We are located near the town of Spanish, Ontario Canada. This summer will be YMCA John Island Camp’s 55th year of operation. YMCA John Island Camp is proud of our reputation for providing high quality camp experiences in a fun, caring, and safe environment- all while being on a unique, inspiring setting in the No  rth Channel of Lake Huron! We serve children, young adults and adults (girls, boys, teens, and families) through traditional camp programs, leadership development, and wilderness travel programs. What We Offer As a traditional camp, YMCA John Island Camp offers an array of popular camp activities. Highlights of our land activity areas, nestled within our 200 acre site, include High Ropes, Climbing Wall, Low Ropes, Archery, Hiking, Initiatives and Arts and Crafts. Along our 1.5km sand beach waterfront, John Island offers Kayaking, Canoeing, Sailing, Windsurfing, and Swimming.

Outdoor Education During the spring, YMCA John Island Camp operates as an Outdoor and Environmental Education Centre. More than 750 participants per year experience these special programs and come from more than 40 schools across Northeastern Ontario. Students participate in outdoor recreation programs, leadership development programs, and special environmental learning programs. Our Outdoor Centre programs operate in both French and English.
